    for convert 115 min film from dvd to vcd by TMPGEnc it takes about 240 min is it ok?

  3. Your conversion rate is about 2.5x Realtime, which is about what I got when encoding AVI to Mpeg2 using pretty much the same hardware.

    Since you are converting to VCD (Mpeg1) so it should be a little faster. It's been a while since I did Mpeg1 conversion, but I remembered that I could get down to 1.5x for Mpeg1. Remember to enable the "use multithreading" in TMPGEnc's Global settings. Otherwise, TMPGEnc only use one CPU.

    Well, that time isn't bad but I would have expected it to be higher... then again, I don't know PIIIs.

    I use dual Athlon MPs (o/c'd to 1466 on Golden Sockets from Plycon). Encoding MPEG-1 352x240 w/ audio filter with highest quality motion search, I get about 55 FPS or about 62 minutes to encode that same 115 minute movie. Encoding MPEG-1 at 704x480 w/ odd-adapt deinterlace turned on, it drops to about 35 FPS (or about 98 minutes).
