  1. Im kinda new to this, i use a dazzle 80 and send vhs to my computer, i just wanted to know how to make the quality and sharpness to above vhs quality so when i burn it to vcd i can stand to watch it, i u use tmpg to do that, but need walkthrough thanx

  2. I'm kinda new as well, but one thing I've found out is that SVCD is much better than VCD. Sure, you're gonna lose the ability to put 3, 20-min episodes on a cd-r, but, after tinkering around in TMPGenc settings, I've found that I can put 2 episodes on 1 disc and keep SVCD quality. I encode the mpeg-2s at 2100-2200 kbps with noise reduction and the highest motion search. They outputs look pretty good, and I can put 2 on one disc. The absolute best quality is still 2520 kbps, but the output is 400-425 MBs. What really looks good is 4000-4100 kbps, but....after learning this the hard way, SVCDs max bit rate is 2600. *sigh* Shoulda read more about svcds. I'm such a newbie

    Still, if you are only going to watch these on a computer, the 4100s will fit on one cd-r. I suppose u could go higher than that.....the one output I did at 4100 was 640-something MBs.
