  1. Can anyone recommend a good VCD template other than the ones found on TMPGENc and those in "Tools" section? They have been their a while and I just wondered if anyone had come across any updated templates.

It needs to be VCD compliant as xVCD wont work on my DVD player.

    Any info greatly appreciated.

Isn't what you are asking n oxymoron?

You either have vcd 1150 kbps or you have an xvcd (what ever bit rate)

Are you trying to get better quality ?
If you are ,and your player can't play xvcds then try making svcds.

Check your player in the dvd player compatibility list (look left)

    Good Luck

We were all NEWBIES once and the only stupid question is the one that's not asked?

  3. www.kvcd.net has some templates that you can try that are at the standard 352x240 VCD compliant resolution.

...but the KVCD templates still produce XVCD. The VCD template in TMPGEnc produces VCD compliant mpegs - not much to tweak while keeping within the VCD standard, I'm afraid...
