  2. Is this a Mpeg file? The length along with the size makes me think that it is an avi file. If it is an avi file it must be encoded (converted) to mpeg first.

  3. If you are making Vcds, then it will take two discs. There are ways to fit a movie on one disc, but your burner must support overburning. A good rule of thumb is that a VCD will hold about an hour, while a SVCD will hold about 40 minutes. To find out more about overburning, try a forum search.

Actually a standards compliant VCD is 10mb = 1 min, not forgetting that VCD's (and SVCD's) are burnt in mode 2 which allows 800Mb on an 80 min CD.

Basically, for VCD, a 74 min CD holds 74 mins of VCD and an 80 min CD holds 80min of VCD. For SVCD its more complex as you are able to use VBR encoding but clung1 is pretty close with 40mins per CD as a decent rule of thumb.

You could try making it an XVCD if you want the whole movie to fit on one CD. :P
