Making a VCD Menu with Nero 5.5...?

I've tried making a VCD menu with Nero 5.5 and after i burn it and put it in my DVD player..the screen just flickers..i can see the menu its like going up and down or something. I can still select which number and it will play just fine..but still the menu is all screwed up. I've tried using both different encodings PAL and NTSC..i've tried with and without a picture..still does the same thing. If i burn one without a menu everything is fine. Even with a menu i can still view the movie..but the menu is all messed up..if anyone knows what the problem is or has an idea how to fix it i would greatly apperciate it.

Did you find an answer? You're lucky, I can't even see my menus!?! It's almost like I didn't even burn them. NOTHING!!

What brand DVD player do you have? I have an Aiwa. It plays my VCDs just fine. MP3s too, but NO MENUS!!

Help me if you can.

no i didnt find my answer...i'm still probably as puzzled as you. I have an APEX dvd player..anyone have any thoughts why this isnt working?

Some versions of Nero had problems creating a fully compatible NTSC Menu, which you need. The current version 5.5.3.5. seems to be working fine - try upgrading.

Try setting up the DVD player to accept NTSC. I had this problem b4 so i force the DVD to NTSC mode and it works fine.
