  1. I already make vcd for a long time. Some vcd's break down after about 40 minutes playing on my homedvd-player.
The movie breaks down showing many blocks(pixels) and can't go further to the end. Strangsly the second vcd of that movie doesn't have any problems playing on my home dvd-player.
Who recognizes my problem and has the same problems?

The hardest part of a cdr to read is the outer edge, because the cd has to spin faster in order to transfer the same amount of data. Data is burnt inside out, so its the last ~10 mins or so of each disk that are going to cause these types of problems. So the problem is probably just with your media (Cdr/w brand.) You dvd player can read it well enough normally, but once it gets to the end of the disk it chokes. Experiment with different media. Check the dvd player compatiblity chart to your left to see which types of media work best on your particular brand of player.

  3. Thanks for your mail.
But how come most vcd on cd-r do play well on my Akai dv-r2120ss Home Theatre.
It's 1 to 20 cd-r's who does not play well.
Can it be the quality of the cd-r? Which brand of cd-r do you suggest for better performance?

Some cdr's are just made cheaply and won't play well on certain hardware players. Compatibility of burnt media on dvd players is really completely random. Sometimes the cheapest media will work better than the most expensive, all you can do is experiment and find some that work best for you. In general, you get what you pay for so avoid the really cheap media, though I suppose cdr's are all selling for pretty cheap these days. Again, just check the compatibily chart on this site to get an idea of what media has worked well for other people that have the same dvd player as you.
