ok,,,
i capture in vdub using huffy codec at 640x480, when i encode to svcd or vcd using tmpenc, looks/sounds great!
but when i try to use xvid codec in vdub it looks/sounds like garbage.
ill tell u what i do..
file->open video file,
video-> fast recompress
video-> compression
i select the xvid mpeg4 codec, then configure, i select '2 pass - 1st pass'
then advaced options, my settings look like this
http://members.rogers.com/ikai/xvid1.JPG
all other settings are left as default. under two pass 'discard first pass' is checked.
then i press ok and im back in the main vdub window, i hit f7 and give it a filename, with the bottom box checked so it adds it to job control and doesnt encode right away.
i go back to video-> compression
this time i choose '2 pass - 2nd pass int.'
then under advanced options my settings look like this

http://members.rogers.com/ikai/xvid3.JPG
http://members.rogers.com/ikai/xvid4.JPG
http://members.rogers.com/ikai/xvid5.JPG
then i press ok to go back to main vdub window
audio-> full processing mode
audio-> compression
i select mpeg layer3, 160kbit 44khz, press ok and im back at main window
then i hit f7 and give it different filename. then i hit f4 and tell it start.. it encodes.. looks like garbage..

anyways ive seen some amazing samples from xvid i just dont understand what im doing wrong..
if any of u can offer advise it would be much appreciated. thanks.
