  1. I have a movie file with the .asf extension. I tried to use tmpgenc to convert to a vcd but it locks up everytime.

The movies is 1 hour 20 minutes long and is about 578 meg in size.

    Any ideas???

  2. When it comes to ASF, you got two options as far as I can see, and both are
    for old program versions:

    1. TMPGEnc 12a - it's the only version I know that can handle ASF files
    2. VirtualDub 1.3c/1.4c - are the only versions that can open ASF files

Using 1, you just open and encode the file.
Using 2, you open the file and you frameserve it to the latest TMPGEnc for a
    fast and high quality encoding.

  5. If the above doesn't work (I support the TMPGenc latest versions - set the DirectShow plugin priority near the top) is:

Some of the latest files encoded with Windows Media Encoder might not work - in that case you can download the WME and it allows conversions to a format you can use in TMPGenc or virtualdub.
