i've downloaded black hawk down and avi file size is 667 meg,but when i try to convert to mpeg with sound it goes to 1993 meg in size,am i doing something wrong or do i need to convert and split with virtual dub??
I would be grateful for any help

If it becomes 19GB when you convert to MPG, I'd say yes, you are doing something wrong

have a look the guide section related to the avi to (s)vcd conversion. you should choose one of your prefered the mpeg encoder and convert the avi to mpeg1/2 file(s) then burn it as (s)vcd to cd in order to play it on standard alone dvd player.
