    is it possible when using TMPGEnc to split a divx that is longer than 80-90 minutes into 2 parts so that I can put it on 2 cds and have better quality? its a good program there must be a way...

    Yes there is.

    In the wizard , check the box... Source ranfe.
    Then, a screen appears and you can selecte the start and the end frame, so you can select a part of the film.

    tmpgenc cannot split divx only mpeg 1 & 2, it can be used to split during and after encodeing this has been posted many times & guides have been posted do a search
