Is it possible to convert an rm to VCD format natively on a Mac? I know I can do it within VPC, but I'd prefer to do it natively. If it is possible what software do I need to do it?

    Thanks

to the best of my understanding no... and why would u want to? once burned to vcd the quality will be absolutely deplorable-- i had some episodes of a tv show that were converted from rm (unbeknownst to me) and when i opened them i almost got sick the quality was so horrible.. cant understand why people would ever want to use/convert such a terrible format
As below, so above and beyond, I imagine
drawn outside the lines of reason.
Push the envelope. Watch it bend.

Over thinking, over analyzing separates the body from the mind. Withering my intuition leaving all these opportunities behind.

  3. Yeah, the quality will suck, but I think some people want to be able to watch some of their movies on tv at a friends house or something.

On the Mac, no. Even in VPC, the only utility I know of that does a halfway decent job is EO-Video ... and RM-to-VCD conversions, even on a regular PC, take an INCREDIBLY long time to complete. Using VPC on a Mac, you'd probably be able to watch your beard grow during the conversion process of a (normally) 2-hour program. But, I did want to make one comment. I've converted RM files to VCD and some look great. It all depends on the quality of the source-file. RM videos encoded at a 450kbps stream rate or better do very well in conversion.
