  1. Hello...total bginner to this so I Need your advice as to what i am doing wrong.

I have a DVDRIP avi file.I have created my own template and i am converting it to SVCD and i am quite happy that it fits on 2 cd.

    This is what i did.

Load the file in VirtuaDub and did "Save Wav" file for the audio. I then rename the file to mp3 as was recommended by someone in one of the posts.

    loaded the file in TMPGENC.

With regards to the source file setting..I missed the first few frames so that my start is when the movie actually starts and as for the end i totally missed out all the credits.

now when i play the SVCD, the quality of the picture is fine but the audio does not match....you know what i mean..it like watching a dubbed film..i have checked the original DVDRIP and that file is fine.

Any help will be most appreciated.

  2. There could be several causes for this, here are a few ideas.

First thing to check is does the avi have the same framerate as the final mpeg produced by TmpGenc, if not that could be the cause of your problem.

Next thing I can think of, when you load the avi into virtualdub, does it give a warning about VBR audio, if so, thats the problem and there are plenty of firum posts regrading how to fix this, so do a search.

Next thing, when you save the audio out from vdub, do you use full processing mode, compression =none (PCM). If not, you should.

Now a question, in what way is the audio sync out. Is out by the same amount all the way through the movie or is a gradual loss of sync as the movie plays. This onfo may help to further track down whats going wrong.

    Hope this helps
