    I have downloaded some movies off of KAZAA. They are all in .avi files, all the programs i have downloaded to change their format says they are in impropper format. An error pops up sayin the files are compressed what can i do or get to uncompress them?

    Ever heard of DIVX? thats what they are, you need to
    download codec from everywhere to play them,
    try divx.com for divx 5 codec...
    then search for xvid codec somewhere else,
    i cant tell you where, cause im not supposed to

    Thanks for the repy
    ok, i went and got the DixX Player, but it still wont let me change the format. I want to change .avi file to MPEG2, so i can change the resolutions... to watch on my DVD player. I put it in VCD file and burnt it through Nero but the picture and sound just suck. Is there a program i can use to change that?
