  1. I'm using (trying..)a PC to capture and edit movies:
    P4 1.4
    2x45 IBM 7200 HD
    A firewire card
    256M
Asus AGP V7700 deluxe (with all options)
    miro DC30+
    OS: Win2k SP2 - (NTFS)
    Premiere 6

I can only capture 2G (!!!!) files from miro's capture program (and not from Premiere...)
I d/l the AVI_IO trial and tried to work with it - but it does not recognize the miro30 - just the Asus capture.
I've uninstalled the asus and installed the latest drivers from Nvidia - but then I couldn't find any capture device at the AVI_IO.
I"m just interested to overcome the 2G limit - i.e. maybe joining the captured .avis without dropped frames.
It's very frustating the incapability of working with large files...

I'll be very thankful if someone could help me

    TIA
    Nina

Have you downloaded the latest drivers from Pinnacle for the DC30?

What is the end use of your video footage?

Under NTFS you can exceed the 2GB limit, but the problem ( I think) is with the DC30. That is why you get it bundled with MIRO INSTANT VIDEO.

If the end result is export to tape - then capture in chunks just below 2GB and make up movies not exceeding that amount and export back to tape using MIRO INSTANT.

If the end result is VCD then export to an encoder direct from the timeline.
