Is there a relation between a capture board and quality of capture ?
I have a Dv Sony camera and Pinacle 7 capture board.
Do I need to buy a better capture board to improve quality of captured material?

hello.
give us a little more detail of your process (start to finish)
some examples:
* your source
* quality of
* how you are bringing it in DV firewire or analog capture card
* post editing/filtering ie, vdub filters and/or tmpg filters
* software apps to bring in from DV or analog captures
* codecs being used, if any
* encoder
* encoding process/settings
* anything else
so that "any" of us can help ya.
ok, got carried away.

I'll note that many of the lower end tv tuner cards have the same BT 848/878 chipset in them. Therefore, I doubt there is much differece in them save the input connectors (S-video, composite, coax, etc.) vhelp gave you some good starting points and I would work that stuff before I upgraded from say a $40 or $50 card to a $80 or $90 card.....Originally Posted by murzik
