  1. According to the VCD compatability list on this site, my DVD is VCD compatable. I've tried making it with Nero and VCDeasy. I've tried VCD 1.1 and 2.0, both with and without PBC. The only media I've done it on was CD-RW, but I called RCA and asked, and they said it should play a VCD 2.0 on a CD-RW just fine. Does anyone have any ideas? Or better yet, does anyone here have my player (DRC220N) and got a VCD to work with it?

  2. Not much info about your problem... What does your player say when you load the disk? I assume you have gone thru the menu on you TV and set it to s-vhs? I have a RCA 5240P and it plays everything fine. One thought, the VCD should only have three folders on it. MPEGAV, VCD, SEGMENT. Other files/folders in the root directory will confuse the player. Try playing the .dat file in Windows Media. It should play OK.

  3. I have some sympathy with your problem. My Sony was supposed to handle VCD 2.0 on Cd/RW. I tried 7-8 different disks from different manufactures with no luck and was just about to give up.

I checked out my DVD player on the 'DVD compatibility' section of this web site and read through some of the discussion. One or two owners had some success with Verbatium CD/RW's (low speed) and guess what, they worked on my player also - I was delighted.

So, you might want to check out these disks and also seach for your player on the compatibility list and check out the discussion.
