  1. I've found a way to capture to vcd format in realtime
    that give very good results.
The captured video have a very good quality,i think i tis
even better than the video captured whith wintv pvr or Dazzle DVC II.
This solution is software only, for the tests i have used a hollywood + card and a wintv whith cinax winvcr 2.0 for capture from a dvd.But there we must do some trick to the program to get this quality.
If you like to now how is done, just reply to this post and i explain to you....
I think it´s really good considered we d´ont use special and expensive hardware
Maybe this is what you have waiting for...

Yes, I'd appreciate you share your way with us.
    I have Intel SR440BX MOBO w/PIII 500 196 MB RAM and Studio DC10+
and Asus A7V-E Athon 900 128 MB RAM

  5. Sorry, but Studio DC10+ will not wirk whith this method, the capture card must be compatible whith winvcr 2.0
Most tvcards work very good(Studio pctv, wintv etc...)
Also you you´ve got to have a good processor, at least
    a celeron 800 or duron 800 whith 128 mg.
Everything works very good if wou have a P3 1gh,p4 or thunderburd.

  7. I´m in this moment writhing the how-to to share with you
pacience my friend, just a few more minutes ok?

  8. Ok....i will now share with you how it works!

1º--Get cinax winvcr 2.0 and install the program (only this version works).

2º--Get LSX premiere plugin and intall the program.

3º--Go to the folder where winvcr is installed
    "C:\ProgramFiles\Cinax\WinVCR\WinVCR.exe"
go to menu view/folder options and select "show all files" in order to show the hidden dlls.
Select the files "LsxMpgp2.dll" "LsxMpgp3.dll" "LsxMpxp3.dll" and "LsxMpxp3.dll" and delete this files.

    4º--Go to windows\system folder and get the files "lsxprem2.dll" , "lsxprem3.dll" and "lsxprem4.dll"
    if you have a p4.

    5º--Now rename lsxprem2.dll to LsxMpgp3.dll , lsxprem3.dll to LsxMpgp3.dll and lsxprem4.dll to LsxMpgp4.dll

6º--Now if you have a 800 less processor copy LsxMpgp2.dll to the winvcr folder.
    If you have a 800/1000+processor copy LsxMpgp3.dll.

If you have a pentium 4 copy the file LsxMpgp4.DLL.

If you have done follow this steps right, everything works ok and you can now start your capture tests

you can capture from a camera/vhs/dvd etc...

just plug the source to the capture card, open winvcr, select the right settings for capture
    and record........

i hoppe you like the results and share them with me.

sorry if my english is not very good!
    i´m from Portugal.

  9. I will try this but where do you find the LSX program:

  10. you say this only works with 2.0 but the version there is 2.5 plus, and the links are dead.

Do you think this method will work with higher versions? I have the newer Cineplayer DVR 2.51(I still can't find the difference from winvcr)

  11. I had not bothered installing WinVCR on my new pc but just did so to try this idea. it works with 2.0 and the results are very good. I may even use this program regularly now.

I used the ligos lsx files from the demo of their premiere plugin. There is a demo available at their site, its not the same as I used but its worth a try.

no luck with cineplayer though. i think it uses its own encoding engine in this release and not one from ligos, but its shit.

    thanks digital

  12. This is the same setup that Ulead Video Studio uses. Select Mpeg capture driver, and start you real-time mpeg capture. The problem is that the video still have way to go until its at the level of software encoding from AVI. Look for the blockiness in the video, especially in the dark areas. But, it does a job that is simillar to the Dazzle DVC real-time capture.

  13. Before i try this setup i have tryed the mpeg capture whith
Ulead Video Studio and media studio pro 6.
They all use ligos engine but i think my setup whith winvcr provide a better video quality.I think it´s better than Dazzle DVC II realtime capture at vcd bitrate-1150 kb/s
If you have a fast machine the results can be very good.

  14. Well guess the lsx plug-in is there but caint read it so please help.

  15. New info.
For the best quality use the files from LSX-MPEG Suite v2.0
After install the LSX-MPEG Plug-in for Adobe Premiere (one of the programs included in the suite)
the files can be found in the windows\system folder, then, just follow the steps 4,5 and 6 in my how-to, and test.
    The file version is 1.5.0.20
the file name is GoMotion® Compression Engine

    I´m waiting for your results!

  16. Do you think this method will work with higher versions? I have the newer Cineplayer DVR 2.50

    Is it possible?

    I have a asus v3000 capture card.
    an tv tuner too.

IS there a better software available?
    Quote Quote
  17. This method will not work with Cineplayer DVR 2.50 or higher versions because it uses its own encoding engine
    and not the ligos engine!
There are other softwares, like Cyberlink PowerVCR or Intervideo WinDVR , but they use its own encoding engine too and the capture quality is bad, compared with my method!

  21. I am using Athlon 1G CPU, and capture Mpeg 1 VCD format, when i put lsxmpgp3.dll or lsxmpgp4 to the winvcr folder, error message occurs when I start capture : "Unable to start capture operation"

Unless I put lsxmpgp2 to the folder, but the quality is same as before( not so good)!!
    How come?

    Thanks a lot!
