I have a firewire capture card for my sony Digital 8 camcorder. Seeing how I fell victim to the TRV-140 which we all know does not have an input to record anything. I was curious if I could get an adapter that allows RCA's or S-Video in and the firewire adapter out to the card?
I was just curious if this would exist and where to find them if they do?
I want to capture some cartoons for my son's and not use VHS tapes. I'd rather convert them to SVCDs for them if I could?
Can I do this???
I would hate to have to get another capture card?
Thanks
Spankey

Yes, there are DV<->analog bridges, from what I've seen in the forums people seem to think the Canopus ADVC-100 is the current best. It's not cheap and Canopus has other models, so do a little research to make sure that's the one you want before you spend the money.
Dazzle also makes one, which you'll find on the shelves in Best Buy or CompUSA (in the US, anyway). It's really not as good, though, and Dazzle's software and support are generally poor. -
Razzle=BAD
ADVC-100 is good, as is the ADVC-50. The 50 is input only!!!
Also look into Datavideo DAC-100, or if money is no object Datavideo DAC-2.Hope is the trap the world sets for you every night when you go to sleep and the only reason you have to get up in the morning is the hope that this day, things will get better... But they never do, do they? -
if cost no object -> get a laird , the LTM-5500FS is only $2995.0 right now ..
