  1. I have some Hong Kong VCDs that contain dual mono audio channels (IE the left channel contains Cantonese and the right channel Mandarin). My Apex dvd player contains a button to send either the left or right mono signal to both speakers so I can watch the vcd with a single audio language.

I am looking for Windows software that can do the equivalent. I have used WinDVD, PowerDVD and WMP but while they can switch between separate audio tracks they cannot do this when they are on the same channel (or if they can I can't figure out how to do it correctly). Is there any software that has the equivalent feature of my stand alone dvd player? It has to be able to send either the left or right channel to both speakers for a single mono audio track. My only other option to watch these kinds of VCDs on my computer is to unplug one of the speakers (not an ideal solution)

    Thanks!

  2. From memory (and I've done it before), you can change one of the settings in WMP 6.4 to play back only one of the channels.

This no longer seems to be an option in the newer WMP versions.

  3. Looks like I'm out of luck. I can't believe there isn't any software out there that can do this. Any readers from HK know of such software?

  4. There is a free player in the tool section here call STHSVCD. I think it is from China( Hong Kong is part of China ), and it is likely to support the dual lanuage mode. You can try it out at :
