MediaStudio Pro 6.5 MPEG encoder.. Ligos or MPEG.Now?

I've just purchased a second hand copy of MediaStudio Pro 6.5 and I have read somewhere on this forum (unfortunately I can't find the post again) that I should not use the update patch from the Ulead site which replaces the Ligos encoder with Ulead's own MPEG.Now encoder.

Before I heed this advice I was wondering if anyone could substantiate that comment or if anyone has done any comparisons between the two. I have tried the Ligos encoder and whilst I found it very slow I was impressed with result.

I would appreciate any comments on this.

I have used the ligos encoder and seems pretty good and easy to use with ms6.5. I have never used the mpeg.now. If you go to the ulead website and search for the mediastudio forum you can see lots of posts about people unhappy with the mpeg.now encoder. I guess the only way would be to do a comparison for yourself.

Thanks. I didn't realise there was a forum on the Ulead site - I'll give it a look.
