When I go to author a Picture CD with vcdeasy I am doing 1977 files and the limit in the tut is 1980 and after it is done with all it scans it gives me this error.

VCDxBuild Faild Descreption: Directory section of XML is to BIG for a VCD.

I follow'd the tut and got that error.

I have search the www.vcdeasy.org site and www.vcdimager.org
site and didn't find the answer to the error. So, since this site is my primo site of looking for tuts. Would anyone be kind enough to explain what is the max limit a .xml directory section would be.

Is that the how many entries or is it the length of the directory I have the still pictures is. Or would it be the length of the file name. I know it is burnning it to ISO9660 kind of format and that would be the standard 8:3 or can you do Long file name support?

Any feed back would be great.. Thanks

    Set-up & Details:
vcdeasy still image creator to make stills.
    vcd 2.0
    high res
    spline image
    apply correction
    4:3 pulldown
    # of files to burn = 1977
Combined file size is under 625mb
    Have 4 gigs spare space
It does generate the xml, but doesn't
    generate a .bin .cue
I have the delete bin cue uncheck'd.
    Uncheck'd sector 2336 mode.
    Running Win 2000 w/SP3

  2. I've never even tried to put that many pics on a VCD before. Your best bet would be to contact hvr or post in the VCDImager forum: http://forums.vcdimager.org

Since he wrote VCDImager / VCDXBUILD, perhaps he can give you an answer.

Yeah, I am tring to archive all those old pictures I have laying around.
So, I can view them when I want on my DVD. Got about a 13 gallon trash can fill'd with them I am tring to do.

I have check'd the fourms. They were down when I tried to view the
links. I did look through the guides. I am going to cut it down by trail
and error, but it takes so long for vcdeasy to scan them.

If anyone does know though please post.

  5. You're not including the original JPEG stills in filesystem are you?

In any case, contact hvr since he is the author of vcdimager / vcdxbuild. He'll be the one to track down and fix this problem!

    Regards.
