    I keep getting a "file cannot open or unsupported" message. I have installed nimo 5.08. didn't help.

    Go to Options>Environmental Settings>VFAPI Plug-In>Right-Click on Direct Show Multimedia File Reader and click "Higher Priority" until its at the top. That should work
