I just hooked up my new ADVC-50 card to my computer and I have hooked in my VCR to the inputs.
I was following the guide and I get some errors. When I select custom video format and i change the settings to 480X480 and YUV2 4:2:2 it says unsupported format.
Also I have installed the huffy codec (right clicked on the inf and chose install) and when i go to video compression I don't see anything but no recompression: YUY2 as a choice.
Anyone know why this might be happening?
Thanks

Although the guide is a pretty good guide, the custom resolution portion is not effective for all capture cards. I suggest you capture at the best rate your card can handle with as few dropped frames as possible, while still giving you quality you like.
Then use your favorite encoder (mine is TMPGEnc) to convert your video to the format you need.Hello.
