having problems with extracting the WAV with some AVI files i have downloaded, because when i open the AVI file the following message appears:

"VirtualDub has detected an improper VBR audio encoding in the source AVI and will rewrite with standard CBR values..."

If I then select OK and then continue with extracting WAV, when i use TMPGEnc to make an mpg out of the avi file and WAV (so i can make a vcd) the audio is out of sync, could u please please tell me how to sort this out, cheers (hope i make enuff sense)

  2. You make plenty of sense, mainly beacuse this question has been asked, and answered many, many times. Try using the search button at the top of the forum page.

  3. You didn't state the method for extracting the audio, did you follow the process outlined in this guide.

    http://www.vcdhelp.com/virtualdubaudio.htm

The main thing is to make sure you have full processing mode and not direct stream copy selected. For a 90 minute film the wav will be about 900Mb

  5. You can try extracting the audio withe goldwave, it will open the avi and you just do save as to extract the wav. The encode using this. I have done this several times and not had any sync problems.

You have obviously encoded it with one or more parameters not compliant with the spec. or at least Nero thinks you have. Your first post mentions VCD, you now mention SVCD which ist it you are trying to do? Whichever it is, make sure you select the right type in Nero.

NOTE: If you are using the VCD header trick to play SVCD's on a player that doesnt support them, select VCD in Nero. If you don't know what I am talking about then ignore this.
