  1. I installed a new video card, the Verto GeForce4 and now when I try to play an SVCD in PowerDVD, I get this error:

    "Error Code: F5300002

The hardware-accelerated decoding function provided by your display card is not available."

If I click on Detailed, I get:

"Because you switched to an unsupported display mode, the hardware-accelerater-decoding function provided by your display card is not available.

Please close PowerDVD and execute it again. If this message appears consistently, please verify whether your display card is installed properly."

I have tried everything I can to get it to work and it won't. I'm not trying to play it on my tv, just on my monitor.

I did a search for Error Code F5300002 and it returned a site in Dutch, I believe. http://www.bnc.nl/support/faq.asp?ac=831 is the site.

    Anyone encountered this before?

  3. No, I didn't reinstall it. I had this problem yesterday and through changing the settings of the card, I was able to get it to work again. Until last nihgt when a game, The Sims wouldn't play properly, so I upgraded drivers. Now, no matter what I try, it won't work.

No, I hadn't as I was still using the same 1024x768 high color as always, but I just did, changing both color depth and screen size, but still get the same message.

No, I hadn't tried my other cdrom drive, but just did and it gives the same error.

I'm as sure as I can be without actually testing them in my standalone dvd player, that the discs themselves work. In fact, I just tested the raw MPEG's on my drive, and get the same error message as well, so the problem isn't with burnt discs, but the ability to now play any MPEG file.

  5. Oh, no, I don't have another one or thought about it, but I will look into that. I really just like to verify that my discs burned properly at the computer instead of having to get up and check in my standalone.

  6. Just tried WinDVD and it played fine, so I'd have to say it's a problem with PowerDVD.

well you still have some problem because the geforce 4 supports hardware decompression and you are now doing it in software --
