i just converted a 560mb avi with tmpge went through the whole process of encoding it to fit onto a 80min CD-R but it seems to have went over 700mb to fit on cd, did i do somthing wrong on the settings, i moved the bar over to compress to fit on 80min cd. or do i need to go back and compress the mpeg file and re-encode it again.

80 min CD is ~800 MB for (S)VCD (and CDDA) use. CD-ROM uses error correction and has lower capacity.

so when i go and burn it with nero it's going to fit the 755mb mpeg onto a 80 min cd, im a little confused, so i did or didn't do the setting right

revsitup14626,
You did it right. Remember when you're burning a VCD/SVCD your burning in Mode 2 with no error correction and you can fit up to 800 megs on a 80min CD-R. Data CD's are burned in Mode 1 and the extra 100mb goes towards error correction.Warning! I'm baaaaaaaaack -
thank great one's, so when i go and burn the movie with nero, no issues or special settings? i burn one movie already but that was a cut on two cd's with tmpge but i found out i could compress the movie thank god, so if what i understand just make sure my settings on TMPGE are correct then the rest will take over on burning issue,. just make sure i keep it under 800mb
