  4. The easiest way is probably to decode it thru winamp.

  5. Ok guys just tried the nero plug in with the same error, also tried to load it in goldwave......couldnt determine the file specification. There must be a way around this apart from installing winamp, which although is a great player hijacks all my media files and won't allow me to play them on anything else. Bottom line is if it plays , its convertable and convert is definately the way i want to go. The version of nero is 5.6 oem, the version of goldwave is the latest V just d/l. Any thoughts guys......please

  6. I had similar problem. The only program to get around it was one called advanced wma workshop. It alows wma to be converted to wav, mp3, and ogg formats. Works quite nicely. Hope it solves your problem. A demo can be downloaded at www.litexmedia.com

    Good luck!

  7. thanx for all the help guys, but it turns out (thanx to your suggestion of using Advanced Workshop Shadowrunner ) that I need to obtain a licence from Microsoft ( which they wouldn't give to me ) to convert this file. I suppose I'll just have to D/l it again in another formatt if there is one out there............thanx again guys

  9. Actually I just realised that this program must be used BEFORE the registration of the protected file expires.(been a while since I used it) Oh well. Keep it for next time. WMA is Evil!!

  10. http://www.dbpoweramp.com/ will do the trick for you. Make sure that in addition to the converter, you will download WMA codec.
