  1. I am new to this and have tried several different programs and have decided to go with tmpgenc. It is slower than I would like but it has the options and quality that I need. I tried a couple of other programs and didn't have much luck (probably due to lack of knowledge about the program). What does the quantize matrix do? How does 2 pass vbr differ in quality from cbr at 2000? One last question. When I am converting what is the difference in sound when using stereo, joint stereo or dual channel? I have been using the default of stereo but would like to know if dual channel would sound better.I have searched the posts and didn't quite get the answers I was looking for. Any feedback will be appreciated.

  2. Disregard the question about the sound. I found some info and realized that the method to use is the one that sounds best on my dvd player. I get decent sound with joint stereo and very good sound with dual channel.
