  1. I've compared loading the templates in the wizard vs. not using the wizard, and the settings are different. Is this normal? For example: loading the DVD NTSC template in the wizard says it's going to create a 352x480 image, not using the wizard it's going to make a 720x480 image. I've also foung other discrepencies in the SVCD templates.

Should I not use the wizard then? And what about all this tuts, are they valid?

    Thanks in advance

In mine the resolution you describe is a separate option DVD NTSC low resolution, the normal DVD NTSC is 720 * 480

  3. I had the same problem with TMPGenc wizard. The version was TMPGenc Plus 2.55.38.142. Not only was the screen size wrong, but the bitrate was defaulted to 2000. I made my own template with all the correct setting. It worked fine.

I find the wizard just plain annoying (turn it off). I can manually do it much faster and set it up how i like it easier.

  6. Well I downloaded the newest version and it's fixed a few things (the resolution is correct 720x480) but somethings are still different. For example: The default bitrate is CBR 4000 for the wizard Encode=noninterlace. Manual its CQ 65 8000max 2000min Encode=interlace. Which one should I use.

Are the discrepencies there because manual is more of an expert settings so therefore they are different and the wizard uses "safer" settings?

Well I guess I'll do more reading so I can lean to make my own settings.

    Thank all
