playing vcd on panasonic a310

I've burn a vcd using nero 5.5 and it works on my computer but when i use it in my panasonic a310 stand alone i get a message saying "no disc". this is the first vcd that i've burn so i'm assuming i've made a mistake somewhere. Can someone help me out please?
