  1. I have problem with playback of DivX files with framerate 23.x on my PAL TV via TV-OUT (ATI RADEON VE). I assume this is because of framerate conversion to 25 (PAL).

Now, is there any solution to speedup playback to 25 fps and get smooth result or is it possible to change framerate into original AVI to 25 (and keep A/V sync) ?

  2. What kind of problems wiht playback are you seeing? Is the picture rolling vertically or is the video just choppy?

I really don't know of a way to speed up playback, which wouldn't work very well anyway, but there are ways to convert a video file from NTSC to PAL. However there might be some loss of quality involved.

I asked the first question above because I think it's a good idea to make sure that it's not a different, more easily solved problem first.

    Let me know,

EDIT: (damned forums won't let me post twice under the same thread until some amount of time has passed for some stupid reason, just edit the first post)

Is the video image on your monitor jerky as well? If so, I really don't think that the format difference is your problem, even at 23-24 FPS, the image should be perfectly smooth, no jerkiness. I would look at troubleshooting your playback methods such as making sure all codecs/drivers are up to dat, ensuring DMA mode is enabled on all drives, trying a different player, etc.

Let me know if you need more specific help.

  3. It shows "symptoms" of conversion to 25 fps - jerky in panning scenes (everything is fine with overlay - there is no vertical rolling).

I tried with DivXG400 tool which have 23. to 25 conversion "on-the-fly" but result is much worser (jerkyness is not so often but sometimes occurs and become worser ).
Also, I get some method to convert 23.x to 25 (with changing duration of audio and loss in audio quality because of MP3->WAV->MP3 conversion) but "realtime" conversion would be nice solution (it is hard to do that with each DivX I want to watch ).

I think that speedup from 23.x to 25 would help but there is no player that can do that ...
