  1. How do you guys store your movies ? I know that compressing your movies into AVI format would be a good idea or even, then maybe putting several movies on one CD-R or RW. I have 140gigs of total HD space, but it is easly taken by the size of my MPG's. Personally i dont like Avi's. Should i just burn each movie then delete it off of my HD ? And if so, then how easy is it to get back onto my HD after it is burned to disk ? Just a Drag & Drop ?
I know i have plenty of HD space but like i said it is taken to the limit with my Mpg's. So what do you guys do ?

Personally I store my clips on CD-R's. Due to 80min and +90min CD-R's the storage capacity is much better.

Your question however was how to get them back onto your hard drive. This is a matter of how you have copied/stored them on your CD-R(W).

If you have transferred them into a VCD - to get them back you would need to convert the *.dat files in the MPEGAV directory with VCDGear.

SVCD's have a special type of mpeg file that one can convert back, but it involves changing a few lines of hex coding with something like HView 2000.

If you just want to store your mpeg's and not view them on a standalone DVD player, I think you would be better off storing them in normal ISO format. This way you could more or less drag and drop them to wherever you want. To insure that the mpeg's are ok, you want want to use a verifyer (usually included in most burning software).
