HPDVD200 and DVD-R?

Anyone know if these drive can write DVD-R? It can read it, so shouldn't it be able to write to it as well? We just got back from the Wiz, and I pickedu p 3 DVD-R discs, thinking that my drive supported them. Apparently, it seems I was mistaken, but I was wondering if anyone else was successfull in creating a DVD-R disc on it?

It'll save us a return trip...
