  1. hi. i bought a vcd with directories cdi, ext, mpegav, segment, vcd on it. i tried to copy all the files of the vcd into my hard disk but it turned out that some files in the cdi directory can't be copied. these are cdi_all.rtf and cdi_bum.dat.

tried to burn them with my easy cd creator program but won't continue.

what seems to be the problem?
    thanks and more power.

  2. if your gonna put it in your harddrive, go to the Mpegav directory then copy all the files in there.
if you wanna make an burn ready image file. use either nero or cdrwin or clonecd. they're the best.

I dont know if that last post was really clear.

If you want to make a direct full copy of the VCD onto another compact disc, use your CD burning software to make an image file of the original VCD, then burn that image file onto your blank media.

If you just want to copy the VCD to your hard drive to watch the video (and, uhm, why?), just copy the .DAT file(s) from the MPEGAV folder and open it/them, using the "all files" option, in Windows Media Player.

  4. why is it that the files I mentioned above won't be copied/burned. are they corrupted or is my source CD/VCD is just dirty?

and whats the best burning software that i should use in burning my cd's?

    thanks again and more power.
