  1. Folks,

I'm trying out Uleads DVD Workshop 1.2 and have a couple of questions. What I'm looking to do is have about 20 text titles on a menu (linked to 20 videos) and have it go through each video one after the other. The problem I'm having is, if I want to skip a video (NEXT/PREV) I don't have any controls for this under dvd workshop. How is this done?

  2. Took another crack at it after lunch. Now I'm beginning to think this is not possible with this software??

Can someone recommend another DVD authoring software that is simple to use but yet I can grow with?

My main intention, is just to dump a ton of mpgs and avi's to DVD with a menu at the front. From here the user can either nav to a clip or hit the first clip and have the dvd loop through all the clips.

    HELP????

In the ulead stuff I belieeve you can not skip and reverse between tracks.

Your only method of routing can only occur from the menu screen.

Normally when you >>| it takes you back to the menu, not to the next clip.

  4. Spidey,

Can you recommend any other software?? I used DVDit PE and that basically sucked **** through a straw. I designed the whole DVD which turned out perfect, went to burn, and I fought about 5 errors and gave up.

  5. You may be able to do what you want by setting the option on each individual clip to "play next clip" instead of "return to menu" after finish. right click on each clip in your timeline to access that option. I never tried this but it might work. Or else you can join all the clips into 1 and add chapter marks to the beginnings of each scene. Then you will be able to link the chapter marks to your text and during playback you can jump around using next/previous with no problem.

DVDit PE sucks, the only advantage it has over DVD Workshop is the ac3 support, if you can burn a disk without getting muliple errors.

They sell it for $600 dollars, and its not even worth 6 cents.

    My Opinion,

  7. euh, if it's multiplexed ac3, DVD workshop will accept it.

I would like to import multiplexed ac3 into DVD workshop (which unfortunately won't let me pull in separate video and audio streams). I am editing captured DV imports in VV3. I can render video only from VV3 to mpg (or export AVI and encode with standalone encoder). I can also export PCM audio from VV3 and convert to AC3 with standalone program I have. Is there a program I can use to multiplex the resulting separate video and audio streams I've created in order to be able to import into DVD WS? (I don't want to re-encode the video.) I'd be a happy camper if I could do this, since DVD WS gives me everything I need for authoring except AC3. BTW, I'm burning DVD-Rs.

    Thanks

  9. tmpgenc can multiplex these streams (look under tools)
    or bbmpg.

I think DVD workshop is a great program!
but there is one problem with some dvd-players. check this thread:

I hope Ulead will fix this compatabillity-problem.
