  1. I have two asf files, it the transformers movie in two parts.

The part one .asf file, worked perfect with both converting using TMPGENC and then burning using Nero.

Works perfect in my DVD player also.

The second part of the movie is also a .asf file. I try converting, doing it exactly the same as the first file and it goes about five minutes in converting perfectly. Then the frame changes start slowing down. Then after about three or four slow frames it sticks on the last frame. The converting continues as normal but the frame doesn't change.

Once converted, I burn it onto VCD and play it in my DVD player. Goes well until that stuck frame and sticks on it.

Any ideas on what this is and how to solve it?

I downloaded ASFTools and repaired the file, but it didn't help a bit. Any other ideas?

  5. I just found something out - when I play the .asf source file in Windows Media Player, at the very frame where TMPGENC freezes, there is a little skip and jerk in the play in media player. The little jerk only last a millisecond and then the movie carries on as normal.

Hope that can clear up the problem I'm having and some of you can help me out here.

  6. Sounds like bad frames .
    download this version of Virtualdub:
    http://www.digital-digest.com/dvd/downloads/virtualdub.html
    Scroll down to Mp3_Freeze version.
Open movie ,Video tab ,then scan for bad frames.
If you find some then you can use Virtualdub to remove them

  12. Download VirtualDub version 1.3, save the asf as an avi, and then try to convert it to an mpg.

You will need Graphedit, Vdub ASF is no good at all with curupt ASF files, once converted to AVI you should be able to delete the bad frames.
