  1. For my own amusement I have been converting and burning video clips onto CD. All I do is take the .mpg files and burn them onto a disc. When I do this I cant fast forward, rewind or pause them. On the "professional" VCDs I've got in trades they can be paused/etc. and there arent .mpg files directly on the cd that I can copy and paste onto my hard drive.

Could someone tell me how or give me a link to make them into real VCDs that pause and FF and work better?

    Thanks!

Whats wrong with the instructions at the above link? It tells you how to make a VCD using Nero. Thats what you want to do, make a VCD...RIGHT? If not, you will have to give the people here more details regarding your problem.

  5. The link isn't that helpful If you don't have Nero. What other programs can I use?

What you need is VCDEasy.... If you want to use fast forward or pause you have to make chapters first.

VCDEasy is a very good program to make VCD's. However, you do not need to make chapters. I never make chapters and FF and pause always work on my two DVD players (Apex 660, DMTech 2000).

  9. Some players will let you FF and/or pause a VCD without chapters and some will not. It depends on the player. My Pioneer DV-440 will let me FF and pause but the FF is not that fast. My Lasonic lets me FF VERY fast: 32x.
Take it easy. And if its easy take it twice.
