I Have an Apex AD-1100W. I see that there are two different models one is 1MB and the other is 512K. It looks like the 1MB has the white kodak label , but I have read information that clouds that up for me. How can I without a doubt know which one I have. keep in mind this is not on the box or users manual.
Thanks

This is from nerd-out.com, you can check it out if you need more info:
There is one "gold standard" rule to determine which ROM your AD-1100W has: The TV TYPE test
If TV TYPE is located on the GENERAL PAGE in the SETUP MENU, you have a 1MB ROM
(For a picture - See: http://www.dvd-wizards.com/darrenk/1100w/MenuScreens/setup2-1m.jpg )
If TV TYPE is on the PREFERENCES PAGE, you have a 512KB ROM
(For a picture - See: http://www.dvd-wizards.com/darrenk/1100w/MenuScreens/setup5-512k.jpg )
If you are in Wal-Mart selecting a box off the shelf, you have an excellent chance of identifying the ROM size in an AD-1100W by the serial number and by the color of the Kodak Picture CD COMPATIBLE logo using the rules below: (once you open the box, verify which ROM your AD-1100W has using the TV Type rule above)
"The Serial Number Rule":
If the serial number label is white and the number ends in 5, it's probably a 1MB unit.
If the serial number label is white and the number ends in 4, it's probably a 512KB unit.
If the serial number label is yellow and the s. number is less than D110002022100000xE05, it's probably 1MB.
If the serial number label is yellow and the number is larger than D110002022100000xE05, it's probably 512KB.
Apex AD-1100W serial numbers have 20 characters and follow this format:
"If your serial number looks like this: D1100-02-03-16-01234-ME05 (with dashes removed of course) you have a model D1100W which was made in 2002 (02) on March (03) 16th (16) and was number 1,234 in the production line that day.
"The Kodacolor Rule":
If the serial number tag is yellow and the Kodak Picture CD COMPATIBLE logo has a white background, it's probably 1MB.
If the serial number tag is yellow and the Kodak Picture CD COMPATIBLE logo has a yellow background, it's probably 512KB.
The "KC" rule is really nice since you don't have to turn boxes around looking for the yellow serial number label, the Kodak Picture CD COMPATIBLE logo is on all four sides and stands out (especially if it's yellow). Use this rule to spot possible 1MB boxes easier, then fall back on the more accurate yellow tag "SN" rule to select one that has the best chance to be 1MB. P.S. - I've got a 1MB 1100w (it's dated February 6th, 2002)
