  1. Hey folks...

For the last coupple of weeks I've been fiddeling a little (a lot) with subs in an .avi-file trying to add permanent subs, but I'm stuck. I really hope someone in this great forum is abble to help me. Here's the problem:

So far I have no problems adding the subs in VirtualDub ver. 1.4.10 using different filters (the filter i have used in this case is "TextSub 2.16 for a .srt sub file). I start the Frame Server and make the .vdr-file. Open TMPGEnc, but when I want to open up my .vdr project I get the following message: "ILLEGAL STREAM FORMAT" and that's it! I can't get any further.

I did install the handler in AUXSETUP, both the 1.4.10 version AND the 1.4.9 version. I've tried with proxy on and off. Nothing seems to help. I also downloaded and copied the file "msvcr70.dll to my system...

    I'm stuck stuck stuck...

Is it a plugin problem in TMPGEnc? If so, please give links to the right plugins. As fa as I'm abble to see, I've allready installed the VFAPI -plug-in (all the boxes have a checkmark...)

There's a dll you need to put in your Windows/system32 folder. msvcr70.dll if I recall correctly.

Oh, I see you've done that. As KingJohn will tell you, I don't read the post until after I've answered it. 8) After adding the dll, I had to play around with the VFAPI plugin priorities to get it to work. It may have been the Direct show multimedia filereader, I can't quite recall, but I did post in the forums about it when I finally got it to work.

And here's the reference to the topic: http://forum.vcdhelp.com/viewtopic.php?t=94430&highlight=frameserver
