  1. Just an Idea I had, I read once that the region code from a DVD is checked only once and that it is only as big as a byte.
Here is the situation (for someone who doesn't want to flash his drive).
The DVD-Rom is set on Region 4, the Software is Region 4, however the disc is Region 2.
Is it possible to develop a program which sits in memory which temporary changes the disc to region 4 (e.g. instead of the software going straight to the disc to check the region code, it is redirected to the program in memory - which is set to region 2).

    Any comments???

  2. technically yes...but if i'm not mistaking...region code is also checked within the player since a year or two. So players bios does the check.

Flashing is the only possible solution to this... or

copy the whole movie to HDD and just play it.

Takes some time and about 10 gigs of hdd space, but it works.

    greets.
