I wanna burn a bunch of pics onto a VCD and view them on my tv.

but it never works. the player loads the disc fine but it doesn't say the tracks exist.

Does the APEX 660 not playback JPG's or what?

I tried encoding each as a seperate MPEG track, that worked, but it refuses to burn an infinate pause time. I set pause to infinate but the tracks cycle at 5seconds a peace

    God...i'm lossin my hair

    thank god i'm using CD-RW

  2. are you looking at a slide show type of thing or just a disk with images that you can "flip" back and forth in. If its a slide show type of thing it should work fine. I haven't tried the other. Could it be the cdrw? I have an apex 660 and it works great with most cdrs but it has major problems with cdrws.

    Just a thought.

dude... apex dvd players don't support porn.

seriously though, you can't just put jpegs on a cd-rom and have it read it. i believe there is a way to view them, but i think it involves creating an mpeg with chapters or something...maybe you have to pause it and just step your way through your pictures. i believe the apex 5171 will support raw jpegs though

    It's NOT porn.

It's all the pics I have of my friends plus a volleyball game I taped for them.

  7. they have guides here under "how to author" that show you how to make photo albums from pictures. i have found that winoncd is the best software program to use but thay have guids on a few different burning programs. i have an apex 703 and it works great with cdr's and cdrw's.

  8. Here is the link on how to create Photo Albums to play in your DVD player, using various programs.

I have tried the Nero method, and it works fine on my Apex-660.

That is easy. You must make sure and burn it as a "VCD" in Nero and then your slide show will work. I have created about 75 of these, mixed with video as training programs. I have the 660 and the 500 models of Apex. Works great on Sony & Office depot 800 mb disks. I have had trouble on the RW's so I don't use them. The trick here is finding the right disk to work in your CD burner that also plays on your Apex. Took about 4 tries for me to get it right.

  11. Hello,

For those of you who made the slide show successfully, is there a limits of how many phtotos you can put in there?

I put in 700+ photos without a problem, but I can only view up to 120 of them.

I heard the NERO method works (make sure to select VCD first), but I've also heard you'll need to make your pictures 10% wider than the original before you burn (for NTSC), since there is a "stretching" effect. NERO will matte the picture to the correct frame shape, but won't compensate for this "stretching".

    Unless they fixed it.
