  1. I have 2 movies that I have had in Divx format and converted to DVD MPEG2 using TMPGEnc.

When I create the project in DVD workshop, it cuts the movie short.
Usually for a 1 hour 40 min movie, it only registers it as a 1 hour 15-25min
    movie... ??

This is under the Edit window in DVD Workshop...

When I check the MPEG2 file in PowerDVD I can see that it is the whole movie, but PowerDVD stops me using the Search Slide function past the exact same time frame as the problem occurs in DVD Workshop.

If played in PowerDVD it goes all the way through the movie without a problem, but using the Search slide it stops at the same time frame that DVD workshop Stops the movie at in Edit window... anybody know a reason for this or something that could help me fix this...

    ???

    Thanx in advanced..

  2. Yes, I've noticed that PowerDVD will not seek after about 45mins and just screws up. I've never noticed that it has stoped a DVD from buring correctly though.

You could try looking at the MPG in DVD2AVI, and that will confirm or deny that it is complete.

  3. No I know that the movie is complete, because although I cannot use the Search Slider in PowerDVD, I CAN use just watch it in play mode, and it will go until the movie is really finished..

My problem is with the Ulead DVD Workshop, because when I open it in DVD Workshop and add the movie to the Movie list under the Edit window, it stops the movie, meaning it has a Begin Movie Point and End Movie Point, and it starts as it should at Time 0:00:0 but it ends at 1:19:25 when the movie in fact really is 1:40:00.

It thinks that the MPEG file ends 20 min before it actually does...

    That is my problem...

When I look at properties for the MPEG and INFO on the MPEG, it states all the information correctly (i.e. Frames, Res, Kbps, and even time..)

So it looks like the MPEG is good.

Why does this ULEAD DVD Workshop give me this problem...??

    ??

So why don't you let Workshop create the VIDEO_TS folder on your HD and use a DVD player program to play it and see if it's all there???

  5. I had the same problem. If you burn the movie Ulead squeezes the movie into a smaller time space, which gives the effect of running fast forward every 20secs or so.

The problem lies with Tpmg. You will probably find that it has encoded it with field order (bottom field first field b) you have to re-encode the movie to field A (you may also have to change from video movie to film movie.

This may not sound quite right to the guys in the know (I'm quite a newbie) But this will fix your problem.

Don't waste a DVD-R. Re-encode the movie and you will see that workshop recognizes it at it's correct length.
