    I have a DV canon camcorder, and I am using a firewire through my sound card, would the tranfer of data be quicker with a capture card .

    My transfers seem fine now but i have nothing to compare to , I upload to the harddrive in real time , should it be faster?

    yeah, not to mention if you did use a capture card, you dv camera would be pretty worthless since the quality wouldnt be very good.
