  1. Attempting to convert avi to vcd, but cannot extract the audio. Both VirtualDub and TMPGEnc Plus do not seem to support. TMPGEnc wont even load the audio and Virtual Dub wont save it (audio compression not compatible with input format). Virtual Dub reports an Unknown Compression in File Info. Interestingly enough, virtual dub will save it in direct stream copy but not full processing mode.

    The avi file plays fine in WinMedia Player so all the latest codex should be present.

    Any advice would be appreciated

  2. Your audio is AC3 or some other format not supported by vdub. Save in direct stream copy mode and convert to wav or .mp2 with Besweet or Headach3e, whichever one works for you.
