Hello. My goal is to put multiple VCD's on a DVD with a pretty simple menu (one with buttons corresponding to the different movies). These files are initially avi's. I am using DVDit PE, TMPGenc, and Virtual Dub. When I play the mpg prior to authoring, the audio is in sync. After DVDit is complete the audio is out of sync right from the get go.
I have followed the various guides regarding this process and have a few questions. Here is what I did.
1. Strip audio from avi using virtual dub, saved as WAV.
2. Encoded to mpg using TMPGenc, .avi as the video source and the wav as the audio.
3. Authored in DVDit PE.
Now, from what I have read, DVDit PE is supposed to encode the audio to 48, here is a quote from a guide in here:
Note! If you are using Authoring with DVDit SE/PE you don't have to follow this because it reencodes the audio itself but to PCM(DD if using PE) audio and then you don't fit as much as using mpeg audio but it will work also.
Video plays fine on Computer and DVD player. Audio is out of sync on both.
So, here are my questions:
1. If the audio is in sync prior to DVDit authoring, what can I do to make sure it is after I am done authoring?
2. Does PCM or Dolby Digital make any difference in audio being out of sync(I am using DD)?
3. What should the frequency of the wav be when it is stripped?
4. Is there a step I am missing completely, is there better software I should be using, or what would you do/use to do this?
Thanks
Dave
