  1. Hi there,

I have a fully authored (menus and so) VCD 2.0 image on the HD and I would like to burn it to a 90 min. CD.

Most CD recorders which allow overburning (Nero) allow producing VCD from video files (MPEG), but this will destroy my menus. Or, the complete structure can be written to a single track data CD, which is not a real VCD and will not be recognized by standalone players...

Any help will be greatly appreciated !

  2. What image is your VCD in?

If it is in CUE/BIN image format, then you can use CDRDAO (with a GUI like VCDEasy or XDuplicator), CDRWin, newer versions of Nero (select burn image), and others.

    Regards.

  3. Originally, the image is an *.ixa VideoCD image from Ulead DVDworkshop.

I've extracted its contents to a HD (VideoCD) directory structure, because I thought it would be easier to find a burning tool allowing to overburn it. But... Nothing seems to allow that (I mean, preserving menus, etc...).

    Regards.

Re-author your VCD using VCDEasy (or similar).

Add the sequences and segments as appropriate, create chapter entry points, then create BIN/CUE using above program (or similar). Burn BIN file in Nero (or fiddle with CDRDAO if you wish).

BIN/CUE file will contain correct Track 1 as ISO, Track 2 - XX as VCD tracks, so it will play correctly.

  5. You can just simply extract something out of an image and then "burn" it... Unless you are reauthouring it as a VCD, it seems to me that you are simply making a CD-ROM with VCD files. This is not a VCD.
