I download movies from MIRC to my hard drive...
Follow the procedure outlines here... with the exception of using Nero instead of VCDEasy.... http://www.vcdhelp.com/divxtovcd.htm ... I select "VideoCD (NTSC).mcf" in step 2 of encoding.
Plays perfect on my computer... play it with my DVD player (Toshiba SD-5700)... the picture is ok sometimes, nothing special but... it is watchable on my big screen. During play back, every once in awhile, the picture freezes, then a second or two later the audio stops.... maybe 8-10 seconds later play back starts again... it does this several times then it won't do it for awhile..
I've tried splitting the movie into two before running the above process, using a 5.0.1 DivX codec...same results.. still get the freezes
My CD writer is a HP CD-writer plus 9110i .. I've tried two different kinds of media
Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated

You need to experiment on your burning speed. You need to find out the best burning speed for your player. It varies from player to player and writer and writer. Worse come to worse you need to change your equipment.
