  1. Need comments on which is better. Roxio or Nero.
    Thanks...

  2. Nero is tons better for vcd & svcd creation... EZ Cd Creator is ok, but you cannot create SVCD's with it... I would go with Nero all the way!!

    My conclusions? (After using both)

For DATA storage: Roxio (aka Adaptec) is a little simpler.

For VCD/SVCD: NERO ALL THE WAY!!!!

Also, virtually your only option to create off-spec formats (like XVCD, SXVCD, SeVCD) is NERO. Roxio (aka Adaptec) is WAY too picky.

  6. How about in the terms of burning audio. Is Ner
o good at that? If one is better then the other in different ways which one do you keep or get? EZ CD from what I understand does not like any other burning software on the comp even if you don't run it.

I run Win 2k and have actually all 3 on my sys. I use Nero for video cd's, all else I use Adaptec (Roxio) for. WinON is good for vcd's if you have alot of routing, etc. They do all peacefully exist together, however, make sure to shut them down if you are using one or the other. (ie...shut down Adaptec DirectCD & CD Projector wizard in sys tray, prior to booting up Nero, etc...)

  8. IMHO, neither Nero or EZ CD is good for burning VCDs or SVCD. Apart from poor adoption of features (which isn't really a problem if you only want simple VCDs) both can burn a number of miscellaneous errors on the S/VCD (which is a problem).

For simple VCDs, I reckon that WinOnCD or VCDImagerGUI + CDR-Win/Fireburner is probably better.

  9. Thanks. Little late but I like to follow up. I was just wondering because I have lazy creator deluxe 4 and ready to try nero. I am looking at alternatives to these hobby programs.
