all of my computers(2xwin2k,winxp,2xwin98) except this one (1win2k), will not play a few of the family guy episodes i have downloaded, all computers are loaded with the newest divx bundles but they will not play certain files. But my machine which has had lots of different divx bundles on it (without anyformatting) just upgrades, plays them.
The error i get is that windows media player searches for a codec , then gives an error saying that no compatible codec could be retrieved. then it goes ahead and plays the file without audio.
The files that only work on mine have properties of :
Audio Format : Windows media audio v2
Avg Data rate : 8.10Kb/second
Sample Rate: 44.100kHz
Audio Sample Size: 16 bit
Channels : 2 (stereo)
Video:
Video compression: DIVXMPG4V3

It sound to me like the other PC's are missing the MP4V3 codec...it usally comes in a set with mpeg4 v1, 2 and 3.
Get that and it will most likely fix your problems.
(as said above....it is also part of the Nemo bundle)
