  1. Hi, any help would be appreciated.

I have managed to rip a dvd and copy to vcd (no problems) Next I tried to add chapters which I think I have done. I have 3 files on my desktop videocd, videocd.cue and videocd (bin) I have been following the newbie guide and when it comes to choosing your cd writer (settings - CDRAO) the screen is all one colour so I cant use any of the pull down menus. When I start VCD easy up I get the msg. No Cd writer/reader found or ASPI drivers problem. I use a Teac CDW 524E and have checked the web site for compatability and it's there. what next

    Thanks

I have seen posts like this before, Maybe you should try updating your ASPI software, it comes with a tool (ASPICHK) to check that your present settings are also correct.

    http://www.adaptec.com/worldwide/support/driverdetail.html?cat=%2fOperating+System%2fM...=aspi_v470.exe

Lastest says 4.70, but it installs mostly 4.60

Then you should now re-install the program

  5. Done that. The error msg at the bottom of the CDRDAO page under CD reader says, CDR Disable after ASPI drivers check. I used the (ASPICHK) and the only 2 things not installed were wowpost.exe and winasp.dll I have looked in the notes of vcd easy and it says that 90% of probs come from the CDRDAO section.

  6. Go and get "ForceASPI" from http://www.doom9.org

This will install Adaptec ASPI v4.6. This definitely works on both Win9x/ME and WinXP well.

There have been many reports of problems with the newer Adaptec download.

If that fails, you can burn CUE/BIN images with CDRWin and also the newer versions of Nero. You can have a look at the guide at http://www.vcdeasy.org for more CUE/BIN burning options.

Yes it is, but it installs 4.6 ASPI on most systems

    switches for install

FORCE This option allows the utility to force an upgrade whether the current
file installed on the operating system is older or a previous version.
